Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2 June 2026
This page describes the cookies and similar technologies used on myrota.ie and the MyRota web application.
We use a small number of cookies grouped into three categories. Essential cookies are always on. Analytics and marketing cookies are off by default and only set after you accept them on the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can change your mind any time:
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. Cookies let the site remember things between visits — like that you are signed in, or that you have consented to analytics. Some "cookies" are technically stored in localStorage rather than the cookie jar, but for the purposes of this policy we treat them the same.
2. Strictly necessary (always on)
These are required for the Service to work. We don't need your consent for them under Irish ePrivacy.
- Supabase auth cookies (e.g.
sb-access-token,sb-refresh-token) — keep you signed in. Expires when your session ends or you sign out. - Stripe sets cookies on the checkout / billing portal pages it serves for fraud prevention. See Stripe's own cookie policy.
- Consent + UTM storage (localStorage:
myrota.consent.v1,myrota.utm.v1) — remembers your cookie choice and which campaign / link first brought you here. First-party only, never sent to a third party. The UTM record is local-only attribution and contains no personal data.
3. Analytics (opt-in)
Off by default. Set only if you click Accept all on the banner or tick the Analytics category in cookie preferences.
- Google Analytics 4 (
_ga,_ga_*) — anonymised pageview and click data so we can see what's working. We enable IP anonymisation. See Google's privacy policy.
4. Marketing (opt-in)
Off by default. Set only if you accept marketing cookies on the banner.
- Meta Pixel (
_fbp) — measures ad-effectiveness for Facebook + Instagram ads we run, and lets us show relevant ads to people who've already visited. See Meta's data policy.
5. Managing your choices
The banner appears on your first visit. After that, your decision is remembered. Use the Cookie preferences link in the footer (or near the top of this page) to change it any time. You can also clear cookies + localStorage in your browser settings — that resets the banner.
Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will prevent the Service from working — you won't be able to sign in.
